Running Parkinson's Out of Town

Thank you for supporting our fundraiser for Parkinson's disease. Our father Greg Holmes started exhibiting symptoms about 10 years ago and was diagnosed a few years later. He was the inspiration for us qualifying to run the 2019 Boston Marathon, and we are using the experience to raise awareness and support the fight against this disease.

Greg is a hard working, funny, and kind person who is loved by his friends, family, and papillon Munchkin. Two years ago Greg underwent invasive Deep Brain Stimulation surgery, which was so successful in helping minimize his tremors that he was able to return to work part time and get his golf game closer to where he was prior to diagnosis. While the DBS surgery is not a cure, it greatly improved his quality of life which would not have been possible without the funding for research that comes from organizations like MJFox Foundation.

Everyone can help end Parkinson’s disease.

An estimated five million people worldwide live with Parkinson's today. It is the second most common neurological disorder. In the United States, approximately 60,000 new cases will be diagnosed this year alone. There is no known cure.

Together, we can change this.

Team Fox is the grassroots community fundraising program at The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (MJFF). MJFF accelerates high-impact science through smart risk taking and problem solving with a commitment to urgency and efficiency. I’m one of thousands of people around the globe who are turning their passions into Team Fox fundraisers to help them speed a cure for Parkinson’s. When you give today, 100 percent of Team Fox proceeds go straight to MJFF’s programmatic efforts.
Thank you for being part of this team!
