Parkinsons? Nobody gonna slow me down!

Chris Vodicka

Chris Vodicka

In 2014, my Dad, Bob, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. It was a devastating blow to the family. We didn't know what to expect and started preparing for the worst. But after countless hours of research, meditation, prayer, djembe drumming and catch with the little football, Bob has told Parkinson's loud and clear "Ain't nothing gonna break my stride. Nobody gonna slow me down"

Now it's my turn to give back. My brother, Zach, came up with this crazy idea to climb Mt Kilimanjaro with Team Fox to raise awareness about the disease and (hopefully) raise some funding to help find a cure. I have signed up and we will be attempting this climb together in August 2019. In the meantime, Zach and I are working to raise $10,000 each to support the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's research.

An estimated five million people worldwide live with Parkinson's today. It is the second most common neurological disorder. In the United States, approximately 60,000 new cases will be diagnosed this year alone. There is no known cure.

Together, we can change this. I hope you will consider donating to this cause. 100% of your tax-deductible contribution will go towards funding research to help us solve this disease.

Thank you for your support as we battle this devastating disease together!

Update! The Daily Herald and Beverly Review ran great articles about our efforts:
