More than 6 million people worldwide live with Parkinson's today. It is the second most common neurological disorder in the US. Approximately 60,000 new cases will be diagnosed this year alone. There is no known cure.
My precious wife - Meredith - is one of the 6 million. She was early onset and began having symptoms in her late 30's. So that means she has had it for, well, I better not say ... but she has had it for a while ...
Team Fox is the grassroots community fundraising program at The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (MJFF) dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease through an aggressively funded research agenda and to ensure the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today.
When you give today, 100 percent of Team Fox proceeds go straight to MJFF’s efforts.
I will be riding the 60 mile course, which is shorter than most of my rides, but it starts at 5800 feet in the southern section of Denver CO!! The total elevation gain is about 3400 feet with one 9% grade - I'm not sure if TX has any road that is a 9% grade ... but it will be fun!!!
Meredith will even be riding on the back of a tandem for the 23 mile ride. She is (kind of) looking forward to it.
Thank you so much for being part of this team! - Greg (and Meredith)
