As most who land on this page know, I have been doing this ride for a long time now. It started for me when my father-in-law was diagnosed with Parkinson's, and I was searching for some way to honor and support him. A lot has happened over the years since. My father-in-law ended his fight a little over two years ago, I now have two uncles battling Parkinson's and I've had the honor of meeting others who's friends and family members have struggled against this horrible disease.
At this point, the P4P event is, as it was last year, a virtual ride, taking place throughout the month of June. And, as with last year, I am committing to ride 100 miles each week of the month. If the single-day event is allowed to take place, I will certainly take part in it as well.
More than six million people worldwide live with Parkinson's today. It is the second most common neurological disorder. In the United States, approximately 60,000 new cases will be diagnosed this year alone. There is no known cure.
Together, we can change this. Team Fox is the grassroots community fundraising program at The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (MJFF). MJFF is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease through an aggressively funded research agenda and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today.
When you give today, 100 percent of Team Fox proceeds go straight to MJFF’s programmatic efforts. Thank you for being part of this team!
