Mt. Washington Hike

Samuel Philbrick

Our mother Elisabeth was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease eight years ago, in 2011. At first we didn’t really know what it entailed, and still there is a great deal of uncertainty around how the disease will continue to impact her and the 10 million others diagnosed globally. Despite the amazing strides our mother has made with experimental medicine and surgery, modern medicine is far from remedies that can adequately slow the disease’s progression or suppress its symptoms.

On August 3rd my brother Sam and I will be hiking and summiting Mount Washington for the Second Annual Sweet Lou Parkinson’s Fundraiser. Yes, we will be kicking off our city slicker shoes and hiking 6,288 feet alongside friends and family. By taking part in the 3,600 vertical foot hike we aim to raise awareness and money for the Michael J. Fox Foundation and their research.

That said - we are unabashedly asking for you to donate to the cause. 100% of donations go directly to research for the illness and will hopefully result in breakthroughs that improve the quality of life for our mother and others diagnosed with Parkinson’s. Any donation, no matter the size is much appreciated.

- Best
Dylan and Sam

UPDATE: It may have taken us 6 hours to make it up Mt. Washington, but we made it. See photo below for proof! We can’t thank you enough for supporting the cause and a matter that means so much to us.
