WE NEED YOUR SUPPPORT –
AND NOW THE MICHAEL J FOX FOUNDATION FOR PARKINSON’S RESEARCH (MJFF) WILL RECEIVE TWICE THE BENEFIT OF YOUR DONATION!!
Everyone can help end Parkinson’s disease. More than six million people worldwide live with Parkinson's today - I AM ONE OF THEM. It is the second most common neurological disorder. In the United States, approximately 60,000 new cases will be diagnosed this year alone. There is no known cure.
2020 has truly been a unique year and Parkinson’s Disease has not taken a break for Covid-19. In the past our team, Moving For A Cure, has successfully hosted a bar fundraiser plus participated in various Tour de Fox and Team Fox athletic events – cumulatively raising over $110,000. Now it is already September and I was pondering what to do for this year’s fundraiser – unfortunately, a bar event is not a possibility given Covid-19 and social distancing. As my gym has been closed for more than 6 months, I focused on Moving For A Cure by walking, hiking and running outdoors. Suddenly, it struck me – all year I have been logging in my mileage on the Charity Miles app – to date in 2020 I just passed 700 miles – not bad for someone who ran her first 5K in 2015. Of further note, I was diagnosed with PD 10 years ago and this is our 10th year of fundraising. In keeping with multiples of 10, I have now set a goal of walking, hiking or running approximately 300 more miles by year end for a cumulative 1000 miles in 2020.
Please support me as I strive to complete 1000 miles in 2020 and raise $10,000 to fund Parkinson’s Research to improve therapies for those living with PD today and more importantly find a cure!! When you give today, 100 percent of Team Fox proceeds go straight to MJFF’s programmatic efforts.
Even better, MJFF’s Board of Directors has committed to match philanthropic gifts received by December 31, 2020, up to $10 million – essentially doubling your impact!!! Please consider being part of this tremendous commitment to keep vital Parkinson’s research moving forward.
Thank you for being part of this team!
Best – Marion Fioretti
