This year, I am proud to play a part in finding a cure for Parkinson’s disease. As a Team Fox member, I will be running a 4x4x48 Challenge (aka Goggins challenge) in October, whereby I will be running four miles, every four hours, for forty-eight hours. That’s a total of 48 miles in 48 hours.
Taking on the challenge of this fundraising endeavor is exciting and inspiring. I am making a commitment to raise funds and awareness for Parkinson’s disease (PD) because I have seen first-hand the devastating impact PD can have on PD sufferers and their families. I am dedicating my efforts to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research because I believe I am helping shorten the road to a cure.
Six million people worldwide are living with Parkinson’s disease — the second-most-common neurodegenerative disease following Alzheimer’s. In the United States, 60,000 new cases of PD will be diagnosed this year alone. While there is no known cure for Parkinson’s, The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure through an aggressively funded research agenda and ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson’s today.
I’m asking for your support in my forty-eight hour endurance challenge to put an end to Parkinson’s Disease. My personal goal is to raise $10,000. Please help me reach my goal by:
